All I need is the air that I breathe…and an outlet.
This is my set up. I’d apologize for the grainy cell phone camera, but this whole set up is about efficiency. A real camera would be one more piece of crap to worry about. Pretty simple, really. I need a little table that is not in my apartment, my laptop, and half the time my headphones. Although not strictly necessary, I find that the addition of whisky and coffee can be helpful. Your mileage may vary of course. Not counting the beverages, it all fits in my bag easily and is light enough to walk or bike around with for a long time.
Today was a good day. A damn good day, actually. This kind of day doesn’t happen to me very often, but when it does I am reminded that I love writing. Full-on with tongue, even.
This photo was taken here. I suppose that it might seem a little odd that I can get work done in a bar, but probably only to those of you who don’t know me in meatspace. Again, headphones are key and whisky (or whiskey if you’re that kind of freak) can be helpful in moderation.
Not pictured:
- my bike helmet, which desperately needs to be replaced, but is way fierce, trust me
- The Carpenter, who was playing pool with our friend Cliff right behind me
- The plate of free bbq I’d just wolfed down– the source of the smudges on my laptop.

I think I saw you! Next time I’ll be sure to introduce myself.
Cheers!
Wonderful! I’m so glad you found a good new spot. A warm, smudgy laptop is perfect to write on. Wish I could join you…
